Before that she lived in Kissimmee, Florida, but West Virginia is truly where her heart is. Taylor graduated from the P. Reed School of Journalism, what is now the Reed College of Media, at West Virginia University with a bachelor's degree in television and a minor in sports communication.

While she was there, she was actively involved in campus life and volunteered her time with several organizations.

She loved her time in Morgantown, bleeds blue and gold, and will always be proud to call herself a Mountaineer! Taylor grew up watching WSAZ and was proud to intern with the station during her junior year of college. During that time, she learned valuable experience that would eventually help to bring her back on the team as a full-time reporter. When she isn't working, she enjoys traveling the world, participating in pageantry, judging and serving as an emcee at pageants, exercising, spending time with family and friends, cheering on her favorite New England sports teams, watching and attending sporting events and spending time outdoors.

She is very excited to be working close to her hometown and be back in the city she loves and knows so well. If you have any story ideas or would like her to tell your story, feel free to e-mail her at taylor. Much like her time in Erie, she braved the lake-effect elements, traveled to London for the Summer Olympics and to Indianapolis for the Super Bowl. Amanda is passionate about serving the community in which she lives. On the weekends you can generally find her at an event highlighting the compassionate and tireless efforts of non-profit organizations in our region.

Public File Liaison:.A recent memo about Thomas Health guidelines for their employees returning to work when sick, left some upset and confused. Recently, several social media posts have misconstrued our employee return to work policy. To be incredibly clear, Thomas Health has not, nor will we ever, allow employees to work while posing a risk to our patients or our colleagues.

The statement that was shown in the story was designed to answer employee questions that arose as to what they were to do when they came back to work after being cleared by our Director of Employee Health and our Infectious Disease Specialist. We are appreciative of the opportunity to clarify this important matter.

We also remain committed to communicate openly with our employees especially in a time that is as rapidly changing as this pandemic.

The CDC offers a non-test based strategy for those facilities. Their guidelines read "exclude from work until:". He says the reference labs have become incredibly backed up because of the volume of tests being sent to them. Initially when they began testing patients for COVID they would see results from the lab back in days, but now it's about an 11 day turnaround. If you are in those high risk areas like emergency room, ICU or PCU or the isolate observation unit we've developed, those staff members have been given N95 masks.

Ulery encourages the staff to bring in clothes and says they're paying them for their time to change out of their scrubs at the end of their shift as an additional layer of protection when they head home to their families.

He says they have plans to cross-train nursing staff to take care of more critically ill patients that may be brought in. Illness doesn't discriminate. At some point or another, we all get sick -- especially those on the front lines, like health care workers.

Part of the letter states: Employees who test positive for COVID and are asymptomatic will continue working and must mask. They will undergo two temperature checks per day during their shift for 14 days. They say that these guidelines come straight from the CDC guidelines for health care professionals and is subject to change.

As for Thomas Health employees who believe they may have been exposed to someone with the virus, the local health department and other hospital team members will determine how their work could be restricted or altered.
